Living With Art

Artists are people who have been around for a long time and play an important role in society.  They give account for historical reference through visual images which also helps us understand what people looked like in the past and some of the practices in which they held.  They also give tangibile form what cannot be seen with the eyes or what is predicted to occur in the future.  They also provide a way to communicate with the viewers to an extent, by evoking emotions from the viewers.  They can even show a unique perspective visually about nature or life etc.  But identifying who is an artist is diffucult because we have no real definition for art.  Some have taken the approach of associating creativity with artists which makes it less difficult in some respect because creativity has several common characteristics such as sensitivity, flexibility, originality, playfulness, productivity, fluency, as well as analytical and organizational skills.  The author defines creativity as creating something new and favoring the idea of what could be.  By this definition creativity can be shared by both the artist nad the observer.  The role of the observer is equally important as the artist. The obsever should be educated in order to truly find meaning in art instead of trying to find conventional beauty, which all art does not contain. This is greatly shown in the Grotesque Woman. Some find it to be a great work of art but some cannot find beauty or meaning in the work. Without an open mind it is virtually impossible to appreciate an piece of artwork. Observers also often assume that art is meant to mimic the real work, but that is representational art, a small faction of visual art. Art many times follow the principle of "tell a lie to tell the truth" in order to find something that is "realer than real." Abstract art like representational art relates to real life but it is stylized so much that it loses the sense of reality so that it can underscore certain details or or emphasize an idea of what could be. Nonrepresentational art has no reference to the real word however...Expression is defined as the presence of he artist in his/her work...Blah Blah Blah Blah
