Carboard in Progress

ACK!!!! I hate cardboard, not really, but it is very difficult to replicate a pine cone using cardboard.  Cardboard is not meant to bend like pincones which are almost whimsical when they are opened.  I'm trying different ways to bend the cardboard and place it on my base (which real pincones do not have).  So far I have glued some and others I have just slipped into place, but Elise gave me a great idea to try cutting holes/slits into the base so I can put the pieces in a little more quickly and use less glue (I hope b/c my hands are getting awefully sticky). I am so frustrated with this cardboard but also very excited to see how it actually comes together.
Ok I hate cardboard.  It just never bends the way I want it to or the way my group says it "can" bend.  They say "try bending it in the middle..." It does not work I already tried it so now I have to bend the tips so it actually has some of the flaring out that the actual pinecone has.  Hopefully I'll finish by Tuesday evening, but right now I really don't know what's going to happen.  YAY!!! :P
Don't judge me...it's gettin' there
