Photos Critique

The group felt that the one I shot with the squinting eye was very interesting and worked well as an abstract and without the hint of my eyelashes they would not be able to tell what it was.  The very bright shot (white and yellow eyelashes) was also said to be interesting in that you couldn't tell what it was until looking at it up close.  The photo of my with a closeup to the eye had a very good angle so that you could see the red under the eyelid but it would have been more interesting if the eyelashes were in focus.  The photo of the open eye with the light blue eyeshadow had a very good focus and position and the residue of the eye shadow on the lashes was a very nice touch.  The photo of my eyelashes against the blue background was also a point of interest and looked like an eye in a swimming pool and you could see the numbers on my glasses.  The smiling eye was a bit out of focus which weakened it bu the idea was not bad.  The one with my eye upside down had so much detail in it that it kind of became too much to focus on and it could have been cropped better but the lens of my glasses added to the piece and the highlights around the eye were very appealing.  In a lot of the open eye shots the reflection on the pupil was said to be nice to look at and hard not to notice because it is so relatable and it was interesting to see my pupil shrunk because of the lights in the room.

Even though the group enjoyed the photos of my eye they thought the shots of the mouth were a lot stronger and more interesting to look at and actually difficult not to stop looking at.
