Sontag Assignment

I took this photo while he was eating a bacon cheeseburger from What-A-Burger because I wanted him to remember how much he enjoyed his first burger from What-A-Burger.  He was not paying attention at all when I took the picture so there was no sense of emotion between he and I at the time.  This photo is supposed to be humorous for the few of us who know him and his lack of "American food experiences," and is to be viewed by us for however long we decide we want to laugh at this

Cara took this photo of me because I asked her to.  Whenever I eat foods like burritos or hamburgers I always stop eating with the food in my mouth and I wanted people to see that I was not joking when I said that.  At first, I motioned for Cara to take the picture and then she gladly took it while laughing at me so we kind of had a mutual agreement into this photo being taken.  It is meant to be funny for my friends and they look at it for as long as they want because I'm not always going to eat burritos or hamburgers around them.

This is a photo called Walter Chappell by Minor White. White was a textural photographer and focuses mainly on nature.  Even though Chappell is in this photo the texture of the bush is prominent because that is what White likes to focus on.  However Chappell is not unnoticed in this picture and if I had a better picture you could see the texture in his clothes and hair. Chappell was a student and good friend of White. This photo to me has a little bit of connection between Chappell and White and is probably meant to be seen by them only originally but was probably released later in his life or after.
