YAY!!!! We get to do sculptures with clay!!! I'm so excited. I decided to use a coffee cup for my model, although I was originally going to use a flower but I could not find one in time. Since I'm using the coffee cup I'm going to attempt to make the character a monster type with tentacles, a tail and hopefully fangs and a snake-like tongue just because coffee is going to kill a lot of people.
Starting Point and Process
Day One: I used the cup filled with newspaper balls as the base of the armature and for the arm-like tentacles I used wire and put compact newspaper balls to cover the wire. I also used tape to cover the tips of the wire so it does not cut me or the bag. I started covering the armature with clay and it's going pretty well so far but I think I'm going to need to put extra clay at the bottom so the cup does not tear through or show through the clay.
