Monologue & Uncomfy Video Process Critique
Monologue
- Process: I wanted to talk about food at first but I overheard that Fred was talking about candy so I decided to think of something else. I then came up with the idea of complaining about the project for a minute but I could not complain long enough. After that I thought maybe I could complain about how much I cannot stand that awful Spiderman 3 movie, but I took way to long ranting about that. So I walked around to other people's group and Cara had a great idea of yelling topics at me and then I just talk about the subject until the minute was up; she yelled Chuck Norris and immediately I thought about how much of a pansy I think he is.
- Critique: Bill said that the color of the sky, my hat, and my shirt really complemented each other well which was interesting to me, because whenever I wear my hats I always think about the colors I wear with them. The camera view was also duely noted by Bill, which was funny because it was a really random camera view by Josh. Someone said do an interesting camera view and the guy just flops down to the ground and say okay. So yeah that was my critique.
UnComfy Video
- Process: I started thinking about what makes me uncomfy first and realized that what makes me uncomfy is not something I want to emulate on camera. So I started asking my bros and sisters what makes people uncomfy; one of my sisters said nosy people, another agreed, one of my bros said tapping on the cameras, another said "do-do" and another said black people. I then shuffled ideas on how I could execute some of the ideas and chose to do the tapping one first, but I was tired when I did it and decided it probably wasn't good enough and I talked about bowel movements :) After I made that video I also thought about talking about menarche but I don't think that would make alot of people uncomfy so I left the idea alone.
- Critique: Bill said the tapping on the camera was actually a unique way to approach the situation though it seemed a bit too long. He also liked the glare on my eyes and said I looked like the Terminator or something. He said I shouldn't be embarrassed to show the one about bowel movements because there were some really gross videos submitted and that the topic itself was uncomfy for quite a few. After the critique however, I got the brilliant idea of recording me dislocating my shoulder but I don't think I've actually done that for a minute. I might try it if I have time but I wouldn't hold your breath on that, but I know it really made my friend uncomfy when I did it while playing Uno(all rights reserved) with her.
