Mark Making Device

SPOON!!!!

At first I made a dome out of the spoons but when I was testing it two spoons kept falling off; I then thought maybe I don't need those two and I made the marks without the other spoons and it was easier to hold and it made some really nice marks.

Using as much and as many parts of my device was really fun.

Watah!! Judo chop!! that paper

Me dropping the device from above.

Just letting the paint drip from the device.

Twirling the device leaves some funky marks.

Pimp slappin the paper with device in hand.

Stab and twist technique (it's all in the wrist)

Unnatural hand position for me while also trying to make a distorted circle.

The Results are in...

Here I tried to spread the paint across the page and I also tried following the paths of folds I made in the paper.  I actually like the way these turned out alot more than I thought I would.

Here I tried to use tape and other pieces of paper because I liked the way the others turned out when I tried these techniques before.  On the top left one though, I actually used the bottom ends on the spoons instead of the tops of them, and on the bottom right I used as much of the handles of the spoons as I could.

I put huge chunks of paint on the spoons here and put more pressure at the start of the stroke and  then lifted the spoons off of the page.

Here were my first ones that I did and I tried to use as little paint as I could and I left the paint non-diluted to get the chunkiness in certain parts and a lightness in other parts.

Here I either just dropped the device and got some awesome splatters, I let the paint drip from the device, or I jabbed/stabbed at the paper with the device.
Reflecting...

I rather enjoyed using my mark making devices more than the fountain pen, pencils, ink, and all the other weirdness I brought in.  I also liked that the device did not constantly make the same mark unless I intended it to do so.
