I hate summarizing these lectures so I'm going to make them more fun!!!!!!!!

Organizing Principles...

This one said something about unity and how it can be thematic (go figure).  Thematic unity is when when when you arrange similar and related objects all special like an make the viewer go "WOW!!!THAT'S NICE!!!" and make their eyes go every-which-a-way about the composition.  This article also mentioned that the words we use to describe art are also used in MUSIC such as composition, rhythm, harmony, repetition, etc.  The article also said that TOO MUCH repetition is monotonous and TOO LITTLE is chaos (curious choice in words) and themes have, wait for it...POWER!!!!!!!!! and they can communicate to the viewer WITHOUT WORDS!!!!!!  They also also allow the viewers to RELATE to the artists IMPLICITLY and they are influenced by VISUAL SIMILARITY!!! which includes texture, shape, color and NEGATIVE SPACE!!!!!!!!!  Thematic unity is accomplished through an appropriate use of REPETITION AND VARIETY!!!!!!  Attaining visual unity requires SKILL!!!!  The artist can choose to use GESTALT PRINCIPLES which are as follows SIMILARITY, PROXIMITY, CONTINUANCE (NOT CONTINUITY!!!!) AND CLOSURE!!!!!!  Viewers analyze an artist's work using these principles UNAWARES!!!!  The foundation of Gestalt principles were also acknowledged by the CHINESE!!!!!  The GRID is also a  technique that can be used to attain VISUAL SIMILARITY which will give you THEMATIC UNITY!!!!!  STRUCTURE is preferred over PURE CHAOS!!!! because it is more RELAXING!!!! for the viewers and it is EASIER for the viewer to read. Then the article mentions the Gestalt principles in MORE DETAIL!!!!!

Balance...

We like BALANCE!!!!! in our artwork.  This can be achieved through SYMMETRY!!! or...ASYMMETRY!!!!!!  Symmetry has the chance of becoming a STATIC COMPOSITION which is also called FORMAL BALANCE; asymmetry is called...you guessed it INFORMAL BALANCE!!!! which can be more directly related to GRAVITY!!!!!  Radial balance implies CIRCULAR objects while crystallographic balance is ALLOVER and lacks a FOCAL POINT!!!!!   Crystallographic balance can also give a LIVELY EFFECT while radial balance RADIATE from a central point and it makes the compositions ORDERLY and BEAUTIFUL!!!! Balance can also be attained by VALUE and COLOR!!!! and don't forget about POSITION and EYE BALANCE!!!!!
